I started experimenting with photography during the Covid restrictions. The lack of other opportunities led me to spend more time in the studio and without any other focus, I began to make photographs with myself as the subject. The running projects had created an interest in movement, the experience of time based activities and the difficulties of expressing a sense of movement so I started a series of photographs capturing as many aspects of physical movement with my camera. These works are experimental in nature but I have gradually begun to predict how the sensor responds to long exposure to light and movement. I love the sense of immateriality and of catching something in the camera’s mechanism that the eye cannot record.
